Anyone else just want to have some extra fun money to spend? To feel like you’re contributing financially to the family? I do. I don’t need to. My husband has never made me feel like I should work. Being a mom is honestly MORE than a full time job. But you don’t get paid the cash cash for that. And sometimes I just want to go on a shopping spree and feel proud of the money I earned for it. Also, I definitely have some time during naps that I’d LOVE to be strategic with. So here are 11 ideas for YOU to make some extra cash moneys all the while being a SAHM. Shopping awaits you lol.

1. Amazon
There are multiple different ways to make money on Amazon! I’m just going to talk about the two I use:
a. Amazon Associate
Share amazon products (with a specific link tied to your name) that allows you to make a percentage profit when people click and buy products you share. This program is super easy to apply for, here’s the link! You need to be 18, have some sort of social media presence (i.e. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, a blog, etc)., and you do have to give them your Tax ID number or Social Security number. There is no startup fee, and you really have nothing to lose in trying this!! If you already share random things you love anyway, why not make some money from it!
b. Amazon Influencer
Share your review videos of Amazon products (on Amazon’s platform) and make a profit when people click on your review and purchase the product. This is different than just leaving a 5 star amazon review. As an Amazon Influencer, you will have a storefront (similar to a social media profile), where you can upload videos and create curated idea lists and actually gain followers! Amazon really does the work for you here. No need to share anything on social media. Your video has a chance of being placed on the main picture scroll of a product, as well as way at the bottom of the product (after the reviews) which people do find!
This application process is a little more involved, however. There are two parts. For the first part, you need to have a social media presence on either Facebook (business/creator account), Instagram (business/creator account) TikTok, or YouTube. Apply here!! You don’t need a certain amount of followers, just consistent posting. Once they approve your social media, you have to upload 3 review videos of actual Amazon products. This will allow your videos to be placed on Amazon’s product pages for onsite commission. They are particular about how these videos are done, here’s a video link for more details.
2. Flip Furniture
If you have an eye for quality furniture, (and access to a truck) do this!! I recently bought a gold shelf for $20 and literally wiped it down and resold for $150! I only knew its value because I had been searching for a gold shelf for weeks on marketplace. (It doesn’t come naturally). You can also totally bring your kids thrifting with you! My son is a year and a half and LOVES thrifting with me. He always finds the toy section and is very entertained. And then you can just work on the furniture during their nap times, after they go to bed, or honestly have them help you! You can invest however much or little you want in this. Stain and sanding tools definitely make the furniture look better, but can get pricey. If you get really into it, you’ll need storage space too!! I recommend just trying one piece, clean it up, and see if it sells.

3. Sourdough
Sourdough is trendy right now, so why not join the fun and make some money from it! People are looking for a source for their sourdough. AND, there are so many different things you can make with it – bagels, bread, cinnamon rolls, garlic knots, cookies, etc. So experiment!! Choose YOUR favorite sourdough item to make and be the BEST at it! To start, just make a double or triple batch of whatever sourdough item you choose, post it on your Instagram or Facebook marketplace, and see if you get any interest!!

4. Dog Walking
If you’re a dog (or cat) lover, this is a no brainer. Rover connects dog and cat owners to walkers and/or boarders! You just create your profile with your specifications, accept requests, and get paid! If your family wants a pet but doesn’t want the responsibility of taking care of them every day, this feels like the perfect compromise. Your kids may even be helpful if they’re old enough!
5. Online Tutor
You can become an online tutor with no degree! Preply connects students with tutors all over the world! It’s free to setup your profile and Preply will do the rest!! They do make a percentage of your profit, so be aware of that. But if you love connecting with new people and need more adult conversations in your life, this could be the perfect outlet for you!
6. Administrative/Marketing Assistant
If you’re organized and into details, keep reading! So many people and businesses need assistants!! Influencers have a lot to coordinate between posting, brand deals, and messages. Many businesses aren’t taking advantage of social media to market their business, and that’s where you come in!! Reach out to businesses or influencers you like and see if they need an assistant. You may be the hire they didn’t know they needed.

10. Cottage Food Law
There are so many things you can make under the Cottage Food Law. You can do baked goods (i.e. cookies, bread, cake, pie), canning, jams and jellies, candy, popcorn, granola, peanut butter. If you love being in the kitchen and making things, this is your sign! You can sell through social media or at your local farmers market!
