Diaper Comparison: Finding the Cleanest Most Nontoxic Diaper on the Market

July 23, 2025 by Alexa Bontrager

Deciding what diapers to use for your precious babe is HARD. You want the diaper to be comfy and soft, to actually work, to be made with clean, nontoxic ingredients, all the things. BUT, you don’t want to spend your life savings on them. I’m here to help. I’ve created this post comparing 10 of the cleanest diaper brands on the market – price and ingredients, so you can decide what will be best for you and your baby.

For reference, I’m giving you info about size one diapers for each company to create an even comparison. The table I created is more focused on pricing (from the website or from Amazon). Ordered from least to most expensive.

The info below the table goes in depth about the ingredients! Many of the diapers on my cleanest diaper list have similar ingredients, just variations of them.

Ingredients Comparison

Okay now for the ingredients. I’ve listed the diapers in order of cleanest diaper to least (in my opinion), but I do feel like some are interchangeable. I used ewg.org to look up each diaper’s ingredients to see if they were safe for babies. EWG’s skin deep website scores materials from 1-10, 1 being the lowest hazard, 10 being the highest. Here is a link for further explanation on their rating scale!

Wrap Up

Okay phew. That was a lot of info. I hope you feel informed! This turned into a research paper, but on a very worthy topic. All of these diapers consider themselves to be clean, and I definitely agree that they are better than a lot of the diapers on the market!! I did expect the most expensive ones to be the cleanest diaper, and was surprised to find that wasn’t necessarily the case!

We currently use Pura diapers and we LOVE them. We’ve also used Happy Little Camper and loved! They’re sold out often on Amazon, so that’s the main reason we switched. But I really do feel like a lot of these diapers are great options for your babe.

Would love to hear YOUR favorite diaper and why! What were you surprised about on my list? Would you add any brands? I truly can’t wait to hear from you!

You’ll LOVE my other posts here!
