Costco Haul: Healthy Staples we LOVE to Have on Hand

March 26, 2025 by Alexa Bontrager

We are huge Costco fans over here. Huge. Even with our small family of three, we’re there nearly every week. Whether just browsing, picking up a few items and samples, or doing a full pantry restock, it’s our go to grocery shopping center.

I’m passionate about buying real, whole foods made with simple, real ingredients. And Costco has so many amazing finds! I want to share a few of our healthy favs from Costco we always like to have on hand.

1. Kirkland Grass Fed Butter

Obviously made with cream from grass fed cows, which we love. And the only other ingredient is salt! We use butter at almost every meal, so it’s important to me that it’s very high quality. In my experience with Kirkland’s products, this is always the case. It’s also an amazing price.

2. Polish Sausage

Made with 100% grass fed beef! And the few added spices are clean. We keep these in the freezer to pull out for easy lunches. I love meal prepping these on a sheet pan with brussels and sweet potatoes, and then topping with a dollop of homemade hummus (recipe here). Truly chefs kiss.

3. Kerrygold Dubliner Cheese

All I have to say is yum to this cheese. It’s a recent find at Costco for us, and my latest obsession. I pretty much add it to everything – eggs, pizza, burgers, on top of meatloaf, or just eat it plain. It’s made with milk from grass fed cows (yay). It’s a hard cheese, rich in flavor, and reminds me a teeny bit of Swiss cheese (but way better). And I feel like it randomly goes on sale a lot.

4. Raw Organic Sauerkraut

This is truly the best sauerkraut! It’s fermented with salt instead of vinegar which offers more health benefits to your body. Salt encourages the growth of healthy bacteria, while vinegar stunts its growth. We want all the healthy bacteria (probiotics) for gut health, immune support, and digestion! So yay. We use this as our daily probiotic and (try to) eat a spoonful a day! It’s also a giant 50 oz container, so it lasts forever.

5. Organic Blueberries

This is the best deal I’ve found on organic blueberries, and they’re so yum! Big and juicy, which feels harder to find with organic. My son would eat blueberries for every meal if he could, so we love a Costco size container.

6. Siette Tortilla Chips

I’m obsessed with these! These are a clean ingredient tortilla chip – made with cassava flour and avocado oil. No seed oils here (praise). But they’re still thin, crispy and delicious. In fact, most of this brand’s products are made with very clean ingredients, and are so yum.

7. Good Culture Cottage Cheese

This is a steal of a find!! It comes in a giant container (obviously because Costco). You can buy a tiny 8oz size cottage cheese from Whole Foods for nearly the same price. This cottage cheese is high protein, organic, and full of probiotics. It’s also Miles’ favorite snack. You can use cottage cheese for SO many things. I use it in recipes for creamy pasta sauce, pancakes, mac n cheese, soup, the options are endless!

8. Sparkling Coconut Water

If you like regular coconut water, you’ll be obsessed with this sparkling coconut water. The BEST take on coconut water. It’s organic with no added sugar. Honestly, the perfect afternoon pick me up. It’s a natural source of electrolytes (very hydrating) and is just so delicious.

9. Amylu Chicken Burgers

These are another easy lunch option! Made with all good ingredients. They’re Organic with only a few simple added spices. I genuinely love the taste. I often add my favorite Kerrygold Dubliner Cheese (#3 on this list) to the burger and it’s top notch.

10. Skinny Dipped Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

I have a HUGE sweet tooth. I’ll admit it. So something sweet is a MUST to have on hand. I keep these PB cups in the pantry for my afternoon craving. They’re made with better for you ingredients compared with regular Reeses (they aren’t perfect). But they’re so delicious and honestly my favorite candy. I don’t feel bad about eating them one bit.

Okay that’s all for now! I hope you enjoy our favorite finds. I could honestly make this list so much longer, but I don’t want to overwhelm you (with goodness). So I’ll leave it at 10 for now. Grocery shopping can be fun and simple, once you find your staples!! It doesn’t have to be complicated to be delicious! I hope this gives you a boost of confidence to try some clean ingredient options, I really think you’ll love them! I’d love to hear what you’re excited to try!
