A Mother’s Perspective on Charlie Kirk’s Martyr
I don’t often talk politics on here. Honestly, I avoid it. But I just can’t ignore the tragedy of Charlie Kirk’s martyr on September 10, 2025. And really, it’s not even about the politics. It’s the morality. An extremely honorable and integrous man, husband, and father was killed for exercising his right to free speech. When I first heard the news, I was devastated, angry, afraid. For other conservative’s lives, for my family, for our future as a country. But now. I’m motivated, encouraged, ready to take action.
Charlie was an influencer. A trailblazer. A fearless leader. A man of faith. And I truly believe people all over America are rising up to stand in Charlie’s place. “They” thought they would put a stop to the movement Charlie started by killing him, but no. They encouraged it. They advanced it. They started a wildfire.
In the words of Charlie’s wife Erika, “They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith and of God’s merciful love. But they should all know this: if you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea what you just have unleashed across this entire country.” (Link to her full speech here – it begins at minute 14).
Let’s talk about “them” for a second. There are dramatically different reactions to Charlie’s death – those mourning it and those rejoicing about it (people I would include in “them”). I don’t agree with them, but I do still feel called to love them. (If that’s you, I’m glad you’re here, please keep reading!) And also to have a deeper understanding of why I believe what I believe. So that I can defend my beliefs, have educated conversations, and at least make them think.
What’s Next?
I guess my intention for writing this is really to say I want my content moving forward to add value to you. No matter how few or many people read this, I want you to see and know Jesus more through my posts. That’s really what it’s all about. Everything in this world is temporary and I want you to know your future is secure in Jesus.
Romans 10:9 – If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is LORD and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved
My recent binging of Charlie’s debate videos has really challenged me. This is not the time to be complacent. I want to dig deep into controversial topics and take YOU on my journey with me. I figure if I’m going to do the research, I might as well share it. So stay tuned for some fun topics. I LOVE all your feedback, so I’m excited for the conversations it will inspire! Talk soon.
Xoxo,
Alexa
